Alaskan Fishing Trip

Scott went on an Alaskan fishing trip back in May with some of his closest friends. They had a great time and it looks like it was beautiful. I hope I get to go next time:)
This looks like a painting to me and it was taken from his phone.
They fished for King Salmon a few times. Scott actually caught a Sockeye Salmon, which is supposed to taste the best. We haven't cooked it yet.

Rex and Scott. Burr! Looks cold to me.
They also went Halibut fishing. We have really enjoyed eating this fish. Makes great fish tacos.

Baking Fun and Birthdays Celebrated

Here is a post of birthdays celebrated and cakes I have made over the last six months.
Uncle Eddie, Uncle Roger, Dad, and Uncle Tom
Last weekend we celebrated my Dad and Uncles' birthdays. My Dad turned 60 in July and my Uncle Tom turn 60 soon, so my Dad's sisters planned a surprise birthday for them in Ft. Worth. We all met at my Aunt Melva's to await their arrival. It was a lot of fun. My Mom and Aunt's performed a great song. I will post that as soon as I get it. My other uncles had birthdays around the same time, so they were included in the teasing:). They boys and I went and stayed with my Aunt Charlotte for the week for one last vacation before school. She joined us at the party.
My sister, Becky, came up with the "Older than Dirt" idea. I created this cake for the celebration.

Cowboy cake for my friend's son's 1st birthday.
Indiana Jones Lego cake for her son's 7th birthday
This cake I made for my precious niece, Mia.

Super Adam Turns 4!

My baby has now turned four. My how the time flies. We have enjoyed every minute of the last four years. He is so sweet and funny. He always has us laughing. He wanted a superhero theme this year and we had fun planning. Remember you can click on a picture to view it bigger.
Adam and his best friend, Caiden, waiting for the birthday song.
We had all the kids take a picture as Batman. Batman is Adam's favorite superhero.

I made capes for all the kids (and a few adults). Here Adam and Caiden are making their capes fly.
We rented a Batman jumper. That's Alanna and Rachel.

Adam wanted a cake and cupcakes for his party. He calls them "pupcakes". I ordered these cute personalized cupcake picks on etsy.com
June 8, 2011-Adam and his birthday waffles. Cole was a great big brother this morning. We always have some sort of birthday breakfast on birthdays. I heard rattling in the kitchen this morning and went to check. Cole was making Adam a bowl of breakfast cereal. So sweet. Adam was thankful and had a few bites, but then asked for waffles.
When Adam woke up this morning, I told him he was four years old now. He looked surprised then looked down at himself to see if he had grown. Cutie pie!
The kids went to VBS this week and Wednesday night (June 8) was family night at a park.
After the park, we went out for Birthday ice cream.
I took this picture just before Adam went to bed as a three year old.
