Snow Day

Snow! What a fun day we had today. We got over an inch of snow and school was cancelled. Cole was so happy. He's hoping it is cancelled tomorrow too. We will see. This morning we had cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate after some snow playtime. We made a snowman with our neighbors, and then after lunch we made snow ice cream. It turned out really yummy. We added sprinkles and everything. The boys really liked it. Later the four of us had a snow ball fight in the backyard.
This Kyler, Adam, Cole and Chilly, the snowman. Cole gives the cutest names to our snowmen every year.
Snowball coming right at me!
Penny loved it too.
You can see how heavy of a snow it was. All of our bushes were weighted down to the ground. Hope they survivie it.
Mr. Adam saw the snow on his way to our bed at 3 a.m. He wanted to go out and play right then. We laid back down in his bed and he kept asking if we could go. Needless to say, he was ready to go out at 7:00 this morning.

Halloween

We had two ninjas this year. Cole likes Lego Ninjago, so he wanted to be a ninja. Adam initially wanted to be Batman for the third year in a row, but he changed his mind after he saw Cole's costume.

We made a trip to the pumpkin patch. We waited a little late this year, so it was very picked over.
The boys picked out a big one. Then it was off to carve them.

We added dry ice for a spooky effect.

He was fun. He had a motorcycle just behind him. Kids thought it was pretty neat.
After trick or treating we sat out front and handed out candy. I think the kids had more fun doing this than getting candy. They were hollering at kids to come over because we had candy.

Hunting

It has been an eventful hunting season. All three of my wonderful boys have taken a deer this year. Adam is finally old enough to go along on the weekend hunts. He was excited and I have to say it was pretty nice for me too. I had my first weekend at home by myself:).

Bow hunting
Cole's spike.

Adam shot his first deer this year too. He was sitting in a blind with Papa. Very special time for Papa.

Indian Guides

Scott and Cole have gone on two Indian Guide Camp outs this Fall. They are able to experience so many things. Adam will be able to join them on camps next year.

The first was in Possum Kingdom at the YMCA camp. They had a great time. He doesn't look like it in the picture, but he was so excited to ride horses.

Target practice
Their next camp out was in Ft. Davis. I would have enjoyed this one. They even slept in tents. They have a Pow Wow on Saturday evenings with a camp fire. This is Cole with his head dress on.
They constructed rockets and launched them.

Granddaddy's Birthday

My Granddaddy turned 91 this year. We went over to celebrate. Aunt Chare and Unc came into town. Cole and Scott were on an Indian Guides campout, so they were not there:(. Love you Granddaddy!

Cakes and Treats

Over the last several months, I have made cakes for friends and family.

This was made for a friend of Becky's. Hello Kitty and flowers are made out of fondant.
This was for a friend's baby shower.

I made this for the cake walk at the Fall Festival at Adam's preschool.
Adam was into Werewolfs this Halloween, so I made werewolf cake pops for their classes.
Spider cupcakes for Adam's class party.
Volcano cake for a friend's son. There is a votive in the top so they could add dry ice for an erupting effect.
Monster Truck cake for a friend's son.
